Analytical Services
Having an Analytical Chemist on staff with over 40 years of field experience provides us with the advantage of being able to explain in layman’s terms what all of the laboratory analyses mean to you and the impact that they have on your facility. We differentiate these as “Laboratory” analyses since many of the tests below can be performed by us in the field our by our customers if they purchase the appropriate test kit from our on line store.
FROM OUR LABORATORY
Laboratory Corrosion Coupon Analysis: Our laboratory provides complete corrosion coupon analysis on commonly found metal coupons to extremely rare and exotic metal coupons. Options for these analyses include a photo after cleaning, a photo before and after cleaning, and an executive summary of the report written by our staff Analytical Chemist.
Laboratory Deposit Analysis: Our laboratory provides a detailed analysis of waterborne deposits.
- Our “Standard Deposit Analysis” includes: Spot Test for Carbonate, Loss on Ignition, Ash Content, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron as Fe2O3, Iron as Fe3O4, Copper, Zinc, Sulfate, Silica, and Phosphate.
- Our “Supplemental Deposit Analyses” include anything that can be in our supplemental water analyses. Here it might make sense to consult with our chemist before submitting a sample for analysis. Some things such as nitrate in a deposit would be absolutely foolish to ask for.
Laboratory Microbiological Analysis: Our laboratory provides a few simple microbiological procedures to analyze for: Heterotrophic Aerobic Bacteria, Fungi, Sulfate Reducing Bacteria
Laboratory Water Analysis: Our laboratory provides wet and instrumental analysis of water for industrial use.
- Our “Basic Water Analysis” includes: M Alkalinity, P Alkalinity, OH Alkalinity (Calculated), Total Alkalinity , Chloride, Conductivity, Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium Hardness (Calculated), Soluble Iron, Ortho Phosphate, pH, and Silica.
- Our “Supplemental Water Analyses” include but are not limited to: OH Alkalinity (Direct Titration), Aluminum, Azole, Bacteria/Fungi, Free Chelant, Total Chelant, Total Chlorine, Total Copper, Glycol Content, Total Iron, Molybdenum, Nitrate, Nitrite, Oil in Water, Organo Phosphonate (by Digestion)(with or without a Blank Water Sample Provided), Sulfate, Sulfate Reducing Bacteria, Sulfite, Total Phosphate, Total Active Polymer, and Zinc. For tests not mentioned, Contact Us.
Note we do not check water for potability. For that we suggest that you contact your state or county Board of Health.
SUBCONTRACTED TO SPECIALTY LABORATORIES
Laboratory Legionella Analysis: We use two different Certified Laboratories to assist you with compliance under ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2015, Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems. Both laboratories will analyze for all Sero Groups of Legionella, but one will also use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to track living and dead Legionella pneumophila. And one also uses a patented TimeZero test method for quantitative measurement of viable Legionella and total heterotrophic aerobic bacteria. We select the laboratory based upon the customer needs.
Laboratory Metallurgical Analysis: We use a Certified Metallurgical Laboratory when the need arises.
Laboratory Mold Analysis: To date we have had no requests for Mold Analysis, but we do have a laboratory that we could go to for that.
Laboratory Waterborne Pathogens Panel: We use a Certified Laboratory for this analysis. It consists of an analysis for Legionella spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, and Acinetobacter spp.
